 Curriculum
At the Log Cabin Preschool, it is my goal to provide high quality care and education in a safe and caring environment. The Log Cabin Preschool provides developmentally appropriate learning experiences for the children within a group setting. The children learn through child-initiated and educator-initiated activities and are able to develop at their own pace. I will work with the children to help them achieve their goals by engaging them in a curriculum that promotes the many facets of development, including: arts and crafts, literacy, math, science, fine motor, dramatic play, books, music/movement and outdoor play. The curriculum also includes, learning self-help skills that foster independence, opportunities to gain problem solving, decision making competencies, leadership skills, opportunities to learn about proper nutrition, good health and personal safety.

The Log Cabin Preschool carries out a routine that is structured, yet flexible and responds to the needs and interests of the children in care. The routine includes things such as: Circle time, morning snack, projects, creative play, structured activities, outdoor play, lunch, rest and pm snack/creative play. The Preschool is separate from the educator’s living space and is 1400 sq ft and the outdoor area is 1500 sq ft. The classroom is divided into 10 learning centers (Math, Science, Literacy, Dramatic Play, Books, Fine Motor, Arts and crafts, Block area/floor play, Sensory, and Listening center).
